Job Description

Location: Coventry and Leamington Spa

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Hours: Permanent, Monday-Friday (36.5 hours per week)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced trust tax and accounts administrator to support our Inheritance Tax, Trusts, and Estates Team. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Preparing trust, estate, and possibly some personal tax returns, 
  • Preparing trust and estate accounts, 
  • Calculating tax liabilities, 
  • Corresponding with colleagues, clients, and third parties, to obtain information and notify of liabilities, etc. 
  • Assisting with trust registrations and ongoing compliance requirements, 
  • Providing support with tax planning work, including note taking at meetings, 
  • Coordinating HMRC correspondence and queries, 
  • Managing deadlines, filings, and compliance calendars, 
  • Supporting the onboarding of new clients, including AML checks 

 

Essential skills and experience: 

  • Proven experience in preparing trust and estate tax returns (and ideally accounts), either with HMRC or in a tax advisory or accountancy/legal practice environment, 
  • Strong understanding of UK tax compliance around trusts, 
  • Good working knowledge of Iris tax software would be an advantage, 
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills,  
  • Ability to work independently, 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 

 

Desirable qualifications: 

  • Qualified/Part Qualified TEP
