Client Manager

Job Description

Location: Coventry/Leamington Spa

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Hours: Permanent, Monday – Friday, 36.5 hours per week 

We’re looking for a Client Manager to take responsibility for a mixed portfolio of clients, within our Virtual Finance Office department across our Coventry and Leamington offices.

The role will include:

  • Key responsibilities for the onboarding of new clients, ensuring best practices are adopted from the offset and identifying potential opportunities for efficiencies, through processes or technology
  • Review bookkeeping and related workpapers prepared by staff members
  • Review VAT returns and related workpapers prepared by staff members and approve for sending to clients
  • Prepare management accounts and related workpapers for clients within your portfolio, presenting where necessary individually or with Senior Manager/Directors
  • Respond to email and telephone queries and provide ad-hoc support to clients
  • Establish own portfolio of clients
  • Establish good client relationships, acting as the main point of contact at HB&O
  • Organise meetings with clients and attend these where necessary with Senior Manager/Directors
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day workflow of the staff
  • Assist staff members with work-related queries, providing training and making decisions where necessary
  • Attend and actively contribute to planning meetings with managers
  • Ensure department-specific controls for monitoring job progress and staff workflow are complied with
  • Make recommendations for improvements to department-specific controls and processes
  • Oversee staff performance and provide regular feedback to managers
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Keep fully up-to-date with CPE requirements
  • Keep on top of softer skills training needs
  • Establish effective communication channels with clients with all HB&O services
  • Assist managers with the monitoring of department-specific KPIs
  •  

Required qualifications/experience:

  • 2 years in practice, qualified or qualified by experience

 

Desired:

  • Some experience with training of junior members of the team
